The Government granted the long awaited go-ahead for some therapies, including reflexology, to reopen under new plans. This was from Monday 13th July 2020.
Some therapists, like myself, put plans in place to reopen as soon as possible, while other were more cautious and will wait a while before opening their doors to clients. As far as reflexology is concerned, we are able to carry out treatments on the feet, but not the hands or face.
I had my first clients this week, and couldn’t have been happier – I think they were too! To be honest, apart from the face-masks and visors, and extra hand-washing, our procedures are not so different from before. We have always had very strict hygiene standards, so this continues as before.
The main difference for me is shorter contact time, which means that I have to carry out my consultations over the phone before an appointment. This is not as personal as face-to-face time, and may be a little harder to build a rapport with a new client. But all in all the actual treatment time remains the same, and all of the above should not distract from a wonderful reflexology treatment!
I’m just so happy to be back in the clinic, helping clients to relax and re-balance their systems. After weeks of sometimes anxious and challenging times, clients are in need of a treatment more than ever.
I can’t wait to see you!
